Randal Films Voter Education PSA with Other Celebrities
to Inform Americans on Election Day Rules

SAN FRANCISCO, CA (October 14, 2008) -- Randal joined Chris Tucker, Suzzanne Douglas, Hill Harper, Vivica A. Fox, Rosci and others in helping New America Media (NAM) launch a Public Service Announcement (PSA) campaign to educate voters and encourage participation in this historical election. Viewers are urged not to bring any political paraphernalia to the polls and reminded to bring identification so their votes will be counted. They are also directed to additional resources for more voting information like calling 866-OURVOTE or visiting the NAM website. Television stations are being asked to air this star-powered PSA. Radio PSAs featuring Mr. Tucker and Ms. Fox have been recorded as well.

New America Media (NAM) is the country’s first and largest collaboration of 2000 ethnic news organizations. Founded in 1996 by the nonprofit Pacific News Service, NAM holds its headquarters in California and branches in New York and Washington, DC.

New Jersey’s First All-Online Newspaper Launches features Dr. Randal Pinkett in Today’s Top Story

NEWARK, NJ (October 2, 2008) -- New Jersey’s first all-online newspaper launched today in New Providence, Summit and Berkeley Heights. has a paid staff of 20 freelance reporters and 10 columnists and will cover local and state news and features. MONOPOLY at McDonald's Invites Big Winner Dr. Randal Pinkett
to Peel His Way to Yet Another Victory

LOS ANGELES, CA (October 1, 2008) -- In celebration of a new season of the MONOPOLY Game at McDonald’s, McDonald’s will be holding the first-ever Celebrity Game Piece Peel-Off Challenge, hosted by Mr. Monopoly. Randal will be joined by reality TV star Yul Kwon of Survivor: Cook Islands. In this challenge reality TV winners will face off against winners from the 2007 MONOPOLY Game at McDonald’s to see who can peel off hundreds of game pieces the fastest. McDonald’s called upon these reality show champions to demonstrate how easy it is to play the MONOPOLY Game at McDonald’s. “What’s easier – being stranded in the jungle, facing a grueling boardroom, or simply peeling a game piece?” After the competition there will be photo ops and the “Ask the Winner” booth giving consumers and media the opportunity to interact with Randal and Yul and ask what was necessary to win their respective challenges.

Rutgers Advertising Campaign, “Jersey Roots, Global Reach,” Features Randal

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ (September 1, 2008) -- Dr. Randal Pinkett joins other prominent Rutgers alumni in promoting a new ad campaign launched by Rutgers University, entitled “Jersey Roots, Global Reach,” as their way of communicating the strengths of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, across the world. This all-star cast includes actor Avery Brooks providing the voiceover; Shaun O’Hara, center for the New York Giants; Julianne Baird, distinguished music professor at Rutgers Camden; Pulitzer Prize winning author Junot Diaz, and Mary Baglivo, CEO, Saatchi & Saatchi Americas. The campaign will consist of a television advertisement that will air during televised Rutgers sporting events, including football; women’s and men’s basketball; and men’s and women’s soccer.  There is also a print advertisement exclusively featuring Randal that will be appear in publications such as the Newark Star Ledger, The New York Times, and The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Newark’s Most Promising Young Entrepreneur Unveiled

NEWARK, NJ (April 2, 2008) -- Today, Randal will host a book signing and reception for his latest book, Campus CEO: The Student Entrepreneur’s Guide to Launching a Multimillion Dollar Business, at the Paul Robeson Center at Rutgers-Newark, where he will announce the winners of the Newark’s Most Promising Young Entrepreneur Contest. After a month of evaluating business plans and accepting votes at, the pool of ten finalists was narrowed down to four winners: two winner and two runners up. Tamara Magnum-Thomas was named Newark’s Most Promising Young Entrepreneur for her human relations consulting firm, Sharper Image, Inc. NJIT junior, Michael Amegashie, received the grand prize as Newark’s Most Promising Student Entrepreneur for his business University Storage – a storage service that will help college students store their belongings during summer break. The inspiration for this business arose when Amegashie arrived in America from Ghana to attend NJIT’s Educational Opportunity Programs (EOP). He was in a bind because upon arriving in the summer he had no place to store his things. Fortunately a friend offered to accommodate him, but that experience sparked the vision for University Storage. Amegashie will use the $5,000 prize toward continuing the planning stages and eventual launch of his business venture. The runner-up prizes were taken home by Yvonna Wade and Quaison Carter. Wade was merited for her plans to launch a chain of service and assistance centers for young mothers, House of Hope, and Carter received accolades for his online emergency contact service provider, FetchFIRE.

Randal Announces the Finalists for Newark’s Most Promising Young Entrepreneur Contest

NEWARK, NJ (March 26, 2008) – Last month Randal Pinkett, author of Campus CEO: The Student Entrepreneur’s Guide to Launching a Multimillion Dollar Business, called upon Newark’s young and aspiring entrepreneurs to submit their business plans for a chance at winning the Newark’s Most Promising Young Entrepreneur Contest. After evaluating the business plans submitted by candidates, Randal and his panel of experts have selected the following ten finalists:

  • Yvonna Wade is a high school senior from Newark Tech with hopes of opening House of Hope, a counseling center for young mothers.
  • Nutan Patel is a Social Communications major form Rutgers-Newark who plans on launching a mobile parking service geared toward college students entitled Parxity.
  • Tamara Mangum-Thomas is a graduate student at Walden University who runs Sharper Image, Inc. a human resources consulting firm.
  • Bryan Lee, a graduate student at NJIT, owns School of Architecture an architectural company that provides services to businesses.
  • Sue Emilyn Encarnacion, a Rutgers senior, plans launch a gaming company called Sencarna to design a line games to help students prepare for standardized tests such as the SAT, MCAT, LSAT, etc.
  • Quaison Carter is an NJIT senior who co-founded fetchFIRE an online emergency contact service provider.
  • Iyea Brandy runs Conventient Education Services, LCC an educational consulting firm catering to underserved and under achieving populations.
  • Michael Amegashie, a junior at NJIT, plans to launch University Storage, a storage service for college students to store their belongings while away on breaks.
  • Bryan Jackson is launching two defense-contracting companies in partnership with his parents ITEAMCorp and SMART Consultant.
  • Christopher Perez, a freshman at Rutgers-Newark, plans on launching a party-locating site for young adults,

Prudential Financial and Verizon Join Randal in Launching Newark’s Most Promising Young Entrepreneur Contest

NEWARK, NJ (February 15, 2008) -- “Who says you have to wait until after graduation to earn a decent living or to launch the business of your dreams?”, asks Randal Pinkett, author of Campus CEO: The Student Entrepreneur’s Guide to Launching a Multimillion Dollar Business. To identify the next generation of entrepreneurs in Newark, NJ, Randal makes the call for aspiring, local business owners to enter Newark’s Most Promising Young Entrepreneur Contest. Students and young adults are invited to submit their applications online at by March 14, 2008, where their business plans and professional credentials will be reviewed by a panel of experts including Randal Pinkett himself. From the pool of contestants ten finalists will be selected for the opportunity to win one of three prize packages provided by Prudential Financial and Verizon in partnership with the Greater Newark Business Development Center and the Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership. One grand prize winner will receive a $5,000 prize as start-up money, and a one-on-one coaching session with Randal, while two runners up will receive $1500 each.

The finalists will be announced on Wednesday, March 26, 2008. At that time visitors to will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite contestant to help their overall score. Finally, on April 2, 2008 an awards ceremony will be held at the Rutgers Newark Paul Robeson Center where the winners will be unveiled.

NSBE Ranks Randal Among the Top 50 Sexiest Engineers

ALEXANDRIA, VA (February 15, 2008) -- NSBE selected 50 triple threat men and women – sexy, smart, and successful – with distinguished backgrounds in the fields of engineering, science, and technology and featured them in a special issue publication entitled “The Top 50 Sexiest Engineers.” Those selected are celebrated for breaking every popular stereotype surrounding African-Americans portrayed by the media in their professional and personal lives. The age of these outstanding professionals ranges from 23-50 and represent the full spectrum of color and culture within the African-American community. They are praised as the best and brightest and as trailblazers in their respective fields. Randal was profiled for his academic accomplishments, business prowess, and community service. Randal Joins Kmart in Celebrating Black History Month with the Share the Word Event Series

HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL (February 1, 2008) -- In keeping with their commitment to diversity, Kmart will be hosting “Share the Word”, a series of in-store events celebrating Black History Month, which include tributes to black inventors. Throughout the month, Randal will be making appearances at these events alongside other notable celebrities including the following: Dr. Ian Smith, medical/diet expert on VH1’s “Celebrity Fit Club” and host of BET’s “Meet the Faith,”; Laurie Ann Gibson, Hip Hop choreographer for MTV’s “Making of the Band; Misa Hylton, Hip Hop Stylist to the “Stars”; Ke Ke Palmer actress/singer and star of “Akeelah the Bee”; singer/songwriter Kelly Price; and former NFL Player and ESPN analyst Marcellus Wiley. In addition to these “meet and greet” events Kmart will host fashion shows, in-store giveaways, radio promotionals, health screenings, mini workout boot camps, and live performances. The “Share the Word” campaign will inspire, educate and promote the legacy of African Americans. Kmart’s partners in sponsoring these events – Procter & Gamble, Glory Foods, Inc., Atlantic Records WCKD, and Colgate Palmolive – will be on-site offering gifts and samplings. The Kmart “Share the World” series will take place on every Saturday in February from noon to 4:00 pm at select Kmart stores in four cities: Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, and Philadelphia.

Randal Featured in Cover Story of Collegepreneur Magazine’s Premier Issue

DALLAS, TX (January 7, 2008) -- Fran Harris, WNBA Champion Houston Comets guard, along with her company, Fran Harris Enterprises, LLC launched their new publication Collegepreneur Magazine. Harris learned at an early age that “The key to personal and financial freedom is entrepreneurship – always has been, always will be.” With her new magazine Harris hopes to share her lesson with teenagers and young adults and inspire them to harness their gifts and creativity toward financial empowerment. In addition to the inspirational pieces included in the publication, Collegepreneur Magazine also offers advice on leadership, financial literacy, networking and mentoring. The publication’s first issue features a cover story on Randal Pinkett, where he retraces his accomplishments as a successful entrepreneur from his childhood lemonade stand to a multimillion dollar technology consulting firm, BCT Partners.

In addition to the magazine, Harris anticipates expanding the Collegepreneur brand to other media platforms as well, including Internet, videogames, mobile and television.
