Elevate your game

Dear Friends:

Taking a moment to reflect back on 2014, there is much to be thankful for. But in light of the injustices we have witnessed throughout the year, we must all strive to do more individually and collectively. Dr. King eloquently said, "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." So as the year draws to a close I have pondered what I can do to make a difference, particularly in the aftermath of recent non-indictments of officers in the killings of Michael Brown and Eric Garner. I’ve decided to do something novel and exciting: I’ve partnered with TeamDeal.com to raise awareness and funds for police reform and accountability. The proceeds from every sale of my book, Black Faces in White Places: 10 Game-Changing Strategies to Achieve Success and Find Greatness, will be donated to the National Urban League to support their 10-Point Justice Plan for Police Reform and Accountability. TeamDeal.com offers the ability for us to come together to drive a larger discount on the book as a group. As more people sign up to purchase the book the discount becomes greater and more money is donated to the National Urban League. Everyone puts down a small deposit and then everyone receives the book at the end of the sale for the same discounted price.

This is a fitting way for us to come together at the end of year for a timely and worthy cause. The first discount level for the campaign will end on Sunday, January 4, 2014, at 12:00 midnight, so visit TeamDeal.com to promote this effort, share with friends and join my team now!

You can also visit TeamDeal.com on Facebook.

Peace and blessings,

Randal

BREAKTHROUGH

Supporting a Justice Plan for Police Reform and Accountability

As mentioned in the opening, this month I have partnered with TeamDeal.com to raise awareness and funds to support police reform and accountability in the aftermath of recent non-indictments of officers in the killings of Michael Brown and Eric Garner. The proceeds from the group sales of my books will be donated to the National Urban League to support their 10-Point Justice Plan for Police Reform and Accountability.

The National Urban League (www.nul.org) is a historic civil rights and urban advocacy organization dedicated to economic empowerment in historically underserved urban communities. Founded in 1910 and headquartered in New York City, the National Urban League has improved the lives of tens of millions of people nationwide through direct service programs that are implemented locally by its 95 Urban League affiliates in 36 states and the District of Columbia. The organization also conducts public policy research and advocacy activities from its D.C.-based Washington bureau. The National Urban League, a BBB-accredited organization, has a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, placing it in the top 10 percent of all U.S. charities for adhering to good governance, fiscal responsibility and other best practices.

SPOTLIGHT

Black Faces in White Places
Black Faces in White Places: 10 Game-Changing Strategies to Achieve Success and Find Greatness offers ten revolutionary strategies for learning, playing, and changing "the game"--that is, the world in which we all live and work--for the current generation, while undertaking a wholesale redefinition of the rules for those who will follow. It is not only about shattering the old "glass ceiling," but also about reconsidering the four dimensions of the black experience: identity, society, meritocracy, and opportunity. Ultimately, it may be about changing the very concept of success itself.
